1 Introduction

Growing Comrades, Globally

Comrades is more than a race. It’s a global movement of endurance, sacrifice, and shared belief. The International Ambassador Programme exists to grow that movement — one country, one runner, one story at a time.

Three Pillars

  • Reach — Take Comrades into every corner of the running world
  • Trust — Authentic local voices runners actually listen to
  • Growth — Convert global awareness into international entries

2 The Targets

10–15% Annual Growth

In international entries. Every entry traces back to an ambassador.

Priorities

  • Strong, active ambassador presence in every priority market
  • Your stories and content reaching millions of runners worldwide
  • New runners taking on the ultimate challenge — because of you

3 The Profile

Who is a Comrades Ambassador?

  • A past Comrades finisher — or a credible, aspiring runner
  • A respected leader in their local running community
  • Active in clubs, events, coaching, or media
  • Deeply aligned with the values Comrades stands for

Guiding principle: Authenticity and trust over follower numbers.

7 How Tiers Are Determined

Each season an ambassador earns up to 100 points across four pillars. Points come only from verified activity submissions — every post, session and shift is logged individually and checked before it counts. Each pillar has a hard cap, so points stop accruing once it is hit. The seasonal total maps to an annual tier; Diamond is a separate legacy tier earned by Gold status in 3 of the last 4 completed seasons.

01 — Digital & Social Advocacy 30 pts max

5 points per verified post or campaign share. Content that amplifies Comrades across your channels.

02 — Community Outreach & Recruitment 25 pts max

10 points per organised session or meetup, plus 5 points per verified runner support case.

03 — Admin & Campaign Sync 20 pts max

10 points per briefing attended (max 2/season) plus 5 points per submitted status log.

04 — Race Week & Expo Presence 25 pts max

15 points for an expo shift commitment and 10 points for welcome activation engagement.

Gold
Score 85 – 100
Top Performer — fully hosted experience, VIP status, co-create campaigns
Silver
Score 70 – 84
Established — complimentary entry, partial travel support, CMA visibility
Bronze
Score 50 – 69
Entry Level — discounted entry, priority seeding, standard toolkit
Under Review
Score 0 – 49
Building presence — points accrue as verified activities are logged
◆ Diamond Legacy Tier — separate from the annual tiers and not reset each season. Earned by holding Gold in 3 of your last 4 completed seasons, recomputed live. A weaker season still occupies a window slot — it is a rolling count, not a consecutive streak — and Diamond lapses if the run drops below 3 Golds in 4 seasons.

2027 Ambassador Entry Targets

Every ambassador is listed — secondary ambassadors appear next to their country's primary (e.g. Brazil — Nato, Zilma). Countries still awaiting entry targets show Outstanding.

Potential Ambassadors — Awaiting Review

Applicants who submitted the contact form but are not yet in the active ambassador list.

Verification Queue

Every logged activity is one auditable submission. Submissions land as pending and only count toward a season score once an admin verifies them — scores are derived from verified rows, never hand-entered.

Key Dates

Every date the portal shows. Season dates appear on each ambassador’s Journey timeline and in the dashboard’s “Coming up” card — ballot deadlines, expo days, race day. Briefings also feed the attendance picker ambassadors log against. Changes here save straight to the live portal.

Ballot Guess Competition

Ambassadors guess the total Comrades 2027 ballot entries from their Home screen. Closest guess wins a Mr Price trolley dash at the Expo. Each ambassador has one guess they can change until the closing time. After the draw, enter the actual total, then choose the winner — ties are flagged for you to decide. The result shows on every ambassador’s Home screen once a winner is chosen.
